We offer small gutter repairs on guttering upto 2 stories, generally anything that can easily be carried out by an individual worker accessible by ladder. This service is generally only available to customers that are having their gutters cleared or have had them recently cleared. 

Leaking Gutter Joints Replacement (UPVC Guttering Only)  

We replace any old leaking gutter joints with new joints and seals. When replacing the joints the receiving guttering ends are cleaned prior in order to get a good seal. Old joints can be brittle when reclipping consequently breaking with old/exposed seals perished causing leaks, this is why we only replace with new.

Replacement Clips 

Sometimes gutter clips can become damaged due to falling debris, snow or workers incorrectly placing a ladder. Usually the fixing for clips would be hidden as originally they are fitted prior to the gutter being installed, however what we can sometimes offer as a small repair is to leave the guttering in situ slipping a new clip and screwing it in place from underneath, which will help keep the gutters shape and provide some support. Please note having the screw lower down may not be as strong as its correct position higher up however you may decide this is a sufficient and cost effective solution if only for a single broken clip per gutter section. The alternative would be a larger repair with full removal and replacement joints often requiring 2 people at 2 storey and something we could only offer at 1st storey level.

Cast Iron Downpipe replacement with New UPVC Downpipe

You may want to replace a cast iron downpipe for various reasons, it may be loose and coming away from the wall which is extremely dangerous, blocked and unable to be cleared in situ, damaged or unsightly with flaky paint. We offer replacement with low maintenance lightweight, durable UPVC. Due to the weight of a cast iron downpipe this usually requires building a scaffold tower in order to safely dismantle at 2 storey. Once removed we can replace with a new UPVC downpipe. This can only be offered to customers with existing UPVC guttering where the cast iron downpipe not replaced, this is because of the risk of damage to cast iron guttering outlet at the top whilst removing the downpipe resulting in a much larger repair. Prior to a visit we would ask you to check with a magnet to confirm its not asbestos.

Waste removal not included (no waste carriage license) usually this can be collected for free from a local scrap metal collector so would be left on site in chosen location.
